One cup at a time

The name says it — 近所, kinjo, Japanese for neighbourhood, and Joe for a cup of it.

Kin Joe began at home in 2022, spent a few years taking the coffee out to events and pop-ups, and in August 2026 opened a small counter on Eng Kong Terrace near Beauty World. We still take the bar on the road.

How we got here

We bought an espresso machine when we moved into our flat and started pulling shots for friends and family — first the housewarming, then every gathering after it. The conversations that came with the coffee were the point.

  1. 2022

    A home café

    Later that year we opened an online order page so the neighbourhood could get a cup too: pick a time, walk over, collect at the door — one cup at a time, which is all the name was ever meant to be.

  2. Then

    On the road

    We took the coffee out to events and pop-ups — weddings, markets, offices — to stretch what we could do and share the habit a bit wider.

  3. Now

    A counter of our own

    A shopfront at 23 Eng Kong Terrace, a few minutes from Beauty World, open Friday to Monday. Same coffee, same people, still one cup at a time — with the bar heading out for events when they come up.

A coffee bar that comes to you

We pack the bar into a van and set it up wherever the day is happening — trained baristas, proper coffee, none of the self-serve instant beverage stuff.

Find the café

Tucked into the landed streets off Toh Tuck, a few minutes' walk from Beauty World MRT. Mostly takeaway, with a handful of seats out front for a breather after the walk in.

We're open Friday to Monday — closed Tuesday to Thursday. Skip the wait and pre-order for pickup at order.kinjoe.coffee.
